Dave's Oddessy

Dave's Oddessy was our second group project in Futuregames, it's an Isometric puzzle game about a space ship maintainance droid that must save the space ship from a rogue AI by using lasers and portals to power up doors and get to the ships control system and save the cryogenically frozen crew.

My Role
I made the Dynamic Dialogue System, made the first fully functional iteration of the laser puzzle mechanic, and the pickup object mechanic. (also made a working crafting system that in the end was not used)
Dynamic Dialogue
I programmed a Dynamic dialogue system that took into account the players location and what the player was doing to place relevant dialogue every couple of seconds of silence.


Laser mechanic
What was first suppose to be a minigame, became the main puzzle mechanic, where a laser powers up energy boxes to open doors. The player must use mirror boxes to reflect the laser to solve the puzzles (The portals were made by another programmer)
